Alex, Duke of the Dark Court, commands a vampire's power and a palace of his own, yet a curse turns every touch into agony—even the touch of Irene, the woman he loves.
Desperate to hold her as a mortal man would, he strikes a bargain with a dark witch, trading a price she will not name for one chance to feel her at last.
When he finally yields to that passion, his thirst slips beyond his control.
His face grows indistinct in the glass, his remaining humanity fades, and a rogue vampire hunts a bloody trail through Victorian London.
The same hunger wakes in him, and the duke who traded his soul to be close to Irene is becoming the monster the city should fear most.
