Sometimes the darkness is too deep, and the only thing that can save you is finding the light.
When I walked away from my best friend’s brother six months ago, I thought it was for the last time. I did my best to focus on school, to act like our short time together didn’t change me, to pretend that I was normal and okay without him.
I wasn’t. It’s why the minute the bodyguard he hired to shadow me all this time is out of the picture, I seize the opportunity to get my own justice.
But the path I take to get there is more painful than I could have anticipated, and it calls my entire existence into question- everything I know and everything I think I do.
The only way out of the darkness is by embracing it, letting it take me. But when it does, I don’t know if there will be anyone left to save me from myself.
When it does, I don’t know how Ill ever find the light again.
