Nerissa Veymaris is no fragile Lady. She is an islander, raised among storms and sailors.
But when her Family’s fortune crumbles and her brother falls mysteriously ill, Nerissa sails for the White City with one goal: save them both.
During the Gathering of the Ten Families, the White City Palace becomes a web of whispers, rumors and lies. And Nerissa has no patience for any of it.
Caught between two men she never asked for: Dricus Cineris – the Lord of the Desert, who fears nothing except his own power Aidenar Cavareth – bold and reckless contender for the throne, the trouble impossible to ignore …she has no time for either of them.
But something far worse than politics stirs beyond the palace walls. Deadly Plague spreads across the land, rotting crops, poisoning water and turning animals into deadly beasts.
Elemental magic, closed in gemstone jewelry, may be the only force capable of stopping the darkness from devouring the world. If it doesn’t destroy Nerissa first. Diamonds command Wind.
