When an internet hookup from another town becomes the library’s newest hire, high-energy second-grade teacher Connor McMillan cannot ignore Jonathan Park.
Connor already loves his work, but he still wants a boyfriend who welcomes that enthusiasm, sits in the bleachers just for him, shares weeknight dinners, and might one day join a Regency cosplay secret Connor never says out loud.
Starting over in Oregon means Jonathan has to meet people outside work and stop wrecking anything promising, so agreeing to a real date—and learning to pet Connor’s dog—is a first step.
Friends urge Connor to take it slower, yet every time he looks at the man he wants to call his boyfriend, his thoughts refuse to settle.
Teaching children to read is what he does; coaxing a guarded librarian toward I love you will take a different kind of patience.
