Stefan Petryk is figure skating’s golden boy, but a disastrous performance when it counted most has left him coming apart under the pressure to redeem himself.
Forced to room with rival Evan Marquez at Worlds, he expects the break in routine to wreck whatever is left of his comeback.
Evan is charming, patient, and the best artistic skater in the world, and Stefan wants to spend time with him anyway, to know him and learn how he moves.
Stefan has always assumed he was straight, yet Evan appeals to him in every way that matters, even as a relationship—especially with a man—feels impossible under constant media scrutiny that could cost him sponsors and fans.
He tells himself to focus on skating and push the feeling aside, the way he always has.
With Evan never far from reach, that may be the one routine he cannot keep.
