When my therapist suggested I volunteer at a local shelter to help children have a joyful Christmas, my first thought was no. I wasn’t a happy person to be around.
Besides after losing my son, I no longer celebrated Christmas. I wanted to be alone and miserable. Yet I forced myself to go in hopes of seeing one kid smile.
And in return, I found the last thing I ever expected- my Christmas angel. She was all chaos and curves and she stole my heart in mere minutes. Too bad it no longer was capable of love. Only pain.
