Prince Airón of the Northern Kingdom was trained to assassinate an emperor while his twin sister was trained to become an empress.
Killing Tallu, the newly crowned ruler of the Southern Imperium, would cost Airón his life, but failure would leave their nation to be consumed.
When they enter the imperial court, Tallu’s spies are everywhere, and the man on the black throne is the son who poisoned his father for the crown.
His gaze passes over the sister intended as his bride and settles on Airón, the killer sent before him.
Emperor Tallu names Prince Airón his consort and promises to reduce the Northern Kingdom to ashes if he refuses.
