Reese Conway is forty, a controlling partner at a thriving Chicago private equity firm who prizes excellence and winning above all else.
Wealth and the largest account of her career sit within reach until her boss challenges her bleak personal life and orders her onto sabbatical.
She heads home to North Carolina to protect her reputation and that account, planning to take the mandated break and prove she has a personal life by conceiving a child with a sperm donor.
A failing vineyard and the younger man living next door send her quest for a baby down a path she never mapped.
Chicago still waits, and she must choose the future she can control or an unexpected love that does not match the life she designed.
