Tessa Bramwell only meant to leave her grandmother’s famous banana bread with Garrick Thorne, the most feared knife maker in Larkspur Falls, and finish an awkward apology.
She finds him dead beside his forge, and the last thing he ate was her loaf.
Police questions put the bakery owner under suspicion and her shop’s future at risk, while a giant gray cat named Pretzel keeps dragging odd clues out of hiding.
A missing injector, a forged knife, a secret allergy, and a stolen loaf suggest the killer is someone wearing a friendly smile.
As festival week rushes toward its end, Tessa must uncover the truth before the wrong person takes the blame.
