Christine Starling’s lifelong dream to be an actress on the London stage is within reach. Then why does she feel as if something is missing?
For years she couldn’t wait to leave Starling Hall but now she yearns to go back.
When she does return she finds the enemy of her childhood, Zek Nash, is grown up and is warmly welcomed by her family. Zek has risen in the world and is on equal footing with the Starlings.
And even more confusing, when Zek looks at her Christine wonders if perhaps that piece of her that is missing might have been here all along.
