Simon had pushed Vivian away one too many times, but it wasnt because he wasnt insanely obsessed with her. Timing mattered. They were too young, more importantly, Vivian was too young for the plans he had for her. Unfortunately, one more refusal, and a woman getting in the way had been enough for her, and things spiraled out of control.
“I hope we never see each other again. Forget you ever knew me, and I’ll do the same.”
If Vivian could have taken back those words, she would have. She knew words had power to hurt, goodness knew she did. Simons dismissal over the years had stung, but telling him she never wanted to see him again was the last words she uttered before tragedy struck.
