Stacy can’t wait to get back to Switzerland and start her new job at the Lakeside Hotel – but things don’t turn out as she’d hoped. Some people are hostile, and there’s the language problem, too – Stacy’s sense of humour is tested every day. She’s glad to find a friend in the local community, but Kim has problems of her own.
When Emily arrives from England to give Stacy moral support, hotel manager Rico takes them on a trip to the Ticino on the other side of the Alps. But the snow comes on the way home, and a terrible accident changes everything.
Left in charge of renovating Lakeside, Stacy soldiers on, hoping that the most important person in her brave new life will soon be back …
