People say I live with my head in the clouds.
I don’t pay attention, I have zero emotional awareness, and apparently all I know how to do is avoid. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Now a sophomore at Bensen University, everything feels like it’s falling apart. Every moment feels heavy, like I’m floating through a fog. Every deprecating word that’s ever been uttered toward me plays on repeat in my head. The only time I feel any kind of relief is when I’m self-medicating.
But then I meet them. My scent matches… who also happen to be my ex-boyfriend’s teammates.
Atlas, the prime alpha who’s captain of the hockey team.
Kendall, the golden retriever with a cheeky smile.
Uriah, the misunderstood grump.
And Ciro, the beautiful beta that started it all.
The fates are cruel for pairing me up with a pack as perfect as them. They’re well-rounded, emotionally intelligent, and somehow seem to know exactly what my Omega wants at all times. I thought it would be hard to let them in, but it’s proven even harder to push them away.
But no matter how good things get, there’s always someone waiting to push me off my pedestal… and I’m not sure if my new pack can catch me.
