“The people who loved us are never truly gone. Just because we can’t see them anymore doesn’t mean they’ve left us alone.” How many people have you spoken to in your life? Too many to count?
For me, that number is five: my fathers, my brothers, and Danny. But Danny hasn’t answered me in three years. He’s gone, and I can’t get over the loss of him. I can’t, and I don’t want to.
Out of nowhere, Dayyan has appeared in my life. He’s determined to talk to me as if he’s already decided to become a permanent fixture in my life. In my head, and in my heart.
My heart isn’t free though; it belongs to Danny. It’s his. Forever. Right? But why is everything so easy with Dayyan, so natural? Even speaking. What does it mean? What is he doing to me?
What if I want him? What if he’s the man who makes me believe in new beginnings?
