Everything about Leland West makes me want to scream. I just don’t know if it’s with anger… or pleasure.
I’m so damn angry.
Some days, it seems like that’s all I can feel. Like all I am, right down to my bones, is the fury that lives inside me.
But it’s not. There’s another part of me, a part I’ve never been able to set free. A Little girl, longing for a Daddy, for all the care and protection I never had growing up.
Leland sees both. All the anger and that scared Little girl. His dark eyes seem to look straight into my very soul.
And I can’t decide if I’m furious at him for seeing me so clearly… or terrified of the day he might stop looking altogether.
