On the rare occasion when Hades visited Earth, he saw Persephone—the young, beautiful woman who loved Earth and the flowers that blossomed from within its rich, fertile soil.
The longer he watched Persephone, the more he desired her to become the Queen of the Underworld. To rule by his side and live in his dark, joyless palace.
The only way to keep her was through permission from her father, Zeus.
He was determined to win Persephone’s affection, but in order to achieve his goal, he would need to combat the lifelong battle against the darkness within him. All he had to do was abduct her.
