My entire life’s purpose was now to avenge the family I’d lost when I was nothing but a child. I was prepared for a life without love, friendship, and family.
Mostly because I wouldn’t survive losing it again.
So, when the alpha of the town my new assignment was in, declares that I’m his fated mate but that he doesn’t want me, I don’t take it to heart, even if his rejection stung.
Thankfully, I had enough to deal with and I soon found myself busy killing off the rogue vampires who kept showing up at night and storming towards the town’s library.
The alpha was hiding something in there they desperately wanted, but he refused to tell me, the ass that he was.
Suddenly, the situation turns dire and my boss declares that we need outside help, in the form of vampires. Did I mention I fucking hate vampires? They might not be rogue ones, but still.
When the vampire Salizar turns up and is all composed and competent, I slowly begin to lower my walls. I shouldn’t have. Never trust a vampire.
You’ll only end up bitten and claimed without your consent. Oh, and the alpha did not like that I, his rejected lump of meat, was claimed by someone else.
I soon found myself claimed by both men, again without my consent.
