Drew Oakes had her first chance to take home an Olympic gold medal taken away from her when another rider crashed into her in the first race of the competition.
Four years later, she is determined to get on that podium, and preferably, at the top of it. Having an injury that requires a little more time to heal first, Drew is headed to her favorite ski resort in Vancouver, looking for a little rest and some time on the slopes.
Selma Driscoll has always felt guilty about taking both Drew and herself out of her first Olympic race. Now four years later, she’s still racing and is part of Team Canada Snowboarding, but she also has to take care of her ailing grandma, her family, and the ski lodge that her grandparents opened decades earlier. She was not expecting Drew Oakes to show up and need a room.
When Drew and Selma begin spending time together, the guilt and anger begin to fade, and they realize they might be meant to be more than competitors on the snowboard cross course. But can Selma give her whole heart to Drew, and can Drew let go of everything holding her back to give them both a chance at happiness?
