In Olmeda, witch Hope has her own shop, a boyfriend named Ian, and the thrill of seeing her favorite book turned into a movie in her own city.
None of it is as settled as it looks: the shop is still on probation, Ian remains busy with the fallout from Halloween, and the production has stirred up the city’s infamous curse—anyone who films in Olmeda will come to regret it.
Magical incidents on set pull Hope and the strays into the investigation, but motives are plentiful, the saboteur is growing bolder, and a local shifter has already been injured.
At the same time, an undercover Council witch has taken a cold watch over the shop and set a potion test that could cost Hope the business if she fails.
If she cannot expose the person sabotaging the movie before the violence escalates, Olmeda’s curse may not be the only one closing in.
