I came to Clover Ridge to watch a local motorcycle club I was sure was dirty. I found the cleanest thing I’d investigated, and a patient man who never flinched.
He’s the club’s moral compass. I’m the detective sent to prove he’s lying. Neither of us expected a grove at dusk to become the place we learned to be honest.
He won’t cross the line while I hold his fate. I won’t let a corrupt supervisor force me to betray the man who’s never lied.
When my department turns on me for telling the truth, the club I was sent to expose becomes the only people willing to stand behind me.
The badge said watch him. My heart said something else.
How do you fall for the man you’re sworn to investigate, when it could cost everything?
