Aria relocated to Birch Springs as a single mother seeking a new beginning, with her son Dean at the center of every choice she makes.
Next door lives Micah Sutton, a charming photographer whose easy warmth delights Dean and unsettles the careful distance she has kept around her heart.
When Micah's matchmaking mother arrives for a visit, he proposes that Aria pose as his girlfriend to halt the constant setups.
What starts as dinners and simple hand-holding grows complicated as shared quiet moments make the arrangement feel less like an act.
With unexpected feelings taking root, Aria has to decide if guarding herself is worth losing something real with the man next door.
