My mother is the governor, but she is also overreacting. There is no real threat, so when neither of them will take no for an answer, I vow to show Mr. Stand Up that I don’t need nor want his protection.

I thought I’d never see her again and now the job that will make or break my career is in her hands. I vow to make things right with her but she’s not making it easy for me. She isn’t taking the threat seriously, and as a former special ops soldier, I know the danger is real. I need to get her to accept me as her bodyguard before the threats become actions.
